While, I want to agree that the substance of your work should speak volumes about your capacity to serve your clients well, if you want to ensure you stay in business for a very long time, then you need to cover all your bases.

And presenting a professional image is one of your bases.

The trick is that it can all be done relatively cheaply these days. You can source equipment pretty inexpensively via the net, and you can hire the bigger capital items. For example, I was checking through a projector rental website today, because I am doing some presentations to potential clients in a few weeks, and I want to make surf everything looks the part.

This is the other tip. When hiring equipment, go with a bigger player. They will inevitably do better on price, and policies (namely returns and damages..).
