RPG Games are Addictive!

October 28, 2007 By: admin Category: Uncategorized No Comments →

Do you love RPG games? You’re not alone. They are one of the most popular types of games in existence. People go crazy at the chance to play like they are someone else for a little while. These kinds of games have been compared to a really great movie that is interactive, and where you decide what happens at the end. This makes the games favorites of all types of gamers. RPG games seem to be addictive, as some players spend hours each day playing their games on the computer, or gaming system.

Whether you are a medieval warrior on a journey to save your people from darkness, or a television station manager responsible for keeping things going on time and making money, these games are here to stay. One of the things that people love most about them is that they are interactive. Rather than a game that has an ending which is already determined, with RPG games, depending upon your actions in the game, the outcome is different. This keeps the game interesting and fun. Usually, these games take more time to beat and are more of a challenge than regular linear games. Perhaps this is why they are so popular.

Do You Understand The Purpose Behind A Good Nickname?

October 27, 2007 By: admin Category: Uncategorized No Comments →

When you register a new e-mail address, create a new character in an online role-playing game, come up with a new screen name for online chatting programs, or register an avatar for an online bulletin board or forum, there is one very large and important question to ask yourself: Do you want a generic nickname like Matt1234, or a cool nickname like Totung Raserei or Frzn2TheCore? Okay, if you have never played on a game called Diablo II: Lord of Destruction, then you have never seen these nicknames. But the first one is German for ‘Killing Frenzy’ and the second was assigned to a sorceress who uses ice as her main power.

Do you understand the purpose behind a good nickname? Once you have claimed it as your own, everyone will recognize it as yours. If you cannot come up with your own cool nicknames, it may benefit you to visit a nickname generator which will supply you with possible nickname ideas and other extremely useful suggestions so that you may better develop your own unique nicknames for your online presence. Once you have a cool nickname like Frzn2TheCore, you can use it for everything related to your web presence, including chat programs, social networking websites, forums and online gaming. What better way to establish your own unique presence online, than to come up with a cool nickname that nobody else is using?

The Importance of Information

October 18, 2007 By: admin Category: Uncategorized No Comments →

Being in the teak garden furniture business is great. You are able to sell customers something that will be beautiful for their outdoor patios, decks, or gardens. You are also able to help them save money because they will not have to replace their teak furniture like they would have to replace other things. Having information that will help you make better decisions regarding your business is important.

Defining your target market is absolutely essential for a business like teak furniture. You need to know who is interested, who is purchasing, and who is not worth your time to pursue. When you know who your target market is, you will be able to save time and focus completely on that group of people. Teak furniture is luxury outdoor and patio furniture, and not everyone will see the benefits.

Information is very important to any kind of business, especially when that business specializes in a particular thing, such as teak furniture, teak benches, or teak tables. Knowing what avenues to go down are very important as well. By educating yourself with information, you will benefit greatly.

Metal Halide Lighting for Live Reef Tanks

October 18, 2007 By: admin Category: Uncategorized No Comments →

There are a lot of options to choose from for lighting an aquarium. There is a variety of fluorescent bulbs available, including regular, compact, high output or HO and very high output or VHO types. Another option is metal halide lamps. If you are keeping a live reef tank, you may want to consider metal halide light fixtures.

Why invest in the expense of metal halide lighting for your live reef tank? If you wish to keep corals, anemones and other common live reef organisms alive in your tank long-term, you need to provide very intense lighting. Live reef tanks demand lighting somewhere in the range of 4 to 10 watts per gallon of aquarium.

In some cases VHO lighting may be sufficient, but it really depends on the type of organisms you plan to keep. Many times, both UVO and metal halide lamps are used for lighting live reef tanks. High intensity light bulbs of any kind produce a lot of heat, so your light fixtures may be equipped with a fan. An aquarium chiller may also be necessary to keep temperatures in the tank stable and in an acceptable range.

Although metal halide lighting can be expensive, so is replacing live rock and other saltwater organisms. Investing in the right equipment from the start – including appropriate lighting – is the best way to succeed with saltwater reef aquariums.

Hydroponics is Eco-friendly Growing

October 18, 2007 By: admin Category: Uncategorized No Comments →

Unless you really understand the benefits of hydroponics, it can seem like just an odd way to grow plants – kind of like a gardening side show attraction. A nifty trick, but not very practical or natural. Actually, nothing could be farther from the truth. Hydroponics is practical and it supports the health of the environment in more ways than one.

One distinct advantage of hydroponics is there is no contamination of soil with fertilizers. There is no soil to contaminate, after all. You never have to throw out old soil with hydroponics, or alter the natural composition of your soil in order to support crops. Soil borne diseases are all but eliminated, reducing the need for pesticides. There are also no weeds in hydroponics systems, so there’s no need for herbicides, either.

Water isn’t wasted like it may be with inefficient irrigation methods. In fact, hydroponics systems use up to 20% less water than geoponic, outdoor crops. Even if supplemental lighting such as grow lights are used instead of natural sun light, hydroponics plants require considerably less energy and space to grow because they receive more nutrition faster than soil grown plants. Many hydroponics systems do incorporate natural sunlight, however, reducing energy consumption even more.

Choosing the Best Electronic Parts Supplier

October 17, 2007 By: admin Category: Uncategorized No Comments →

Are you just starting to delve into building electronics? It’s a wonderful hobby, and today there are more opportunities than ever to build some really neat things. Parts are easier than ever to find and recycle, and you can also order them online in a snap. There are so many internet sources for electronics parts in fact, the hardest part is trying to figure out which one to use.

You can always just experiment and find which supplier you like best. Some people choose according to how fast a company ships, and of course you want to pay the least amount you have to for the item itself as well as the shipping. Sometimes, it is better to buy some parts from one supplier and others from a different one.

I usually buy parts from the suppliers that have the easiest online catalogs to work with. Directories that are arranged alphabetically make sense since some electronic part numbers begin with Y, while other electronic part numbers begin with C. These are often easy to use directories.

Numerical root directories may or may not be as convenient. If a href=”http://ics.usbid.com/ic_1.html”>electronic part numbers begin with 1 or another number, it is usually best to search with as many digits of the number as you can instead of looking through pages of all parts that start with the number 1.

Shopping for the Nephew

September 01, 2007 By: admin Category: Uncategorized No Comments →

I was searching the net for a present for my nephews when I came across this promotional products site. I know it sounds strange that you could find a decent present for a little tacker on a promotional site but I did. The choices were random but really useful and I reckon that I could use this site year after year for pressies, and no one would ever know! My nephews are all different but there is something for all personalities here. As the kids gets older there are different choices. Don’t tell anyone my secret – I think the family may disown me!

Incontinence is no big deal..

August 27, 2007 By: admin Category: Uncategorized No Comments →

Getting old is something that happens to all of us.

I know this sounds like a funny statement.. but, as the experiences of older age start to happen to each of us, it is a realization that we come to see we may have been in a little bit of denial about.

My wife has worked in aged care for a long time now, and one of the things that she often says is that being older just requires a little more preparation and planning. You need for example to plan where you are going to park at the shopping mall, so you have easy access.

And, you need to plan for incontinence.

It is just a plain fact (and something the women seem to cope with more readily than their male counter-parts..) that our muscles weaken in older age.. all of them.. including the bladder muscles.

Something, that has helping thousands and thousands of older adults are the Adult Diapers.. incontinence pads.. whatever you call them.. they help. And they give you back your confidence. Which is what we lose in older age, when we are concerned about our bladder.. that and our freedom.

But, with the help of a pad, incontinence is no big deal..

Cool Visual Content For Your Website

August 25, 2007 By: admin Category: Design Stuff, Uncategorized No Comments →

Putting images into your website content is a good idea. A lot of people suggest that adding images to your content increases click through rate on the ads you serve, which makes you money, and we all like that. But, you also have to consider that by serving up some nice images, you are also adding quality to your site, and making it a nicer experience for your visitors.

Some people like dry white pages with pure text. But, they are in the minority, I thin you will find.

Anyway.. if you want to add images to your site you should check out these Free Thumbshot thumbnails for your site. This is a site that helps you put free thumbnail size screen shots in your content.

I have been searching around for something like this for a while, especially because I do a lot of reviews of people’s sites and products and I always think it is much nicer for the reader if they get a chance to visually check what I am on about..

Creating better mental habits the easy way..

August 24, 2007 By: admin Category: Uncategorized No Comments →

We talk about personal development, productivity and getting more out of your life here at Visio Talk a lot. But, something I am not sure we have discussed is the simple but powerful fact that the whole basis from which all your action springs is the way you think.

This might sound like an obvious statement, but it is a powerful insight when fully grasped.

The framework of our mind is made up of a million habitual patterns, thoughts and feelings that we have for the large part committed unconsciously, without intention.

At best this leaves us incongruent and a little bit hypocritical from day to day.. and then on the other end of the sprectrum results in addictive behaviors like smoking and drinking..

The whole idea behind affirmations, the law of attraction, thinking positively, polarity, meditation, reiki, visualisation and any other spiritual/self-help practise you can think of is to establish better mental habits, which in turn affect the way we hold ourselves, the way we react to the world, the way we think and what we value.

Any one of the activities mentioned above will help you change unhealthy thought habits into more productive ones. But, the problem is it will take a while.. a long while.

What we need is a way to speed up the process.

And, there is a way. That people have been using for generations. And that we have all seen work. Hypnosis.

Essentially, tricking you mind into doing what you want it to.. and creating the mental habits associated with whatever the behaviors we have decided are desirable, without the years of hard work.

But, do not take my word for it.. check out these hypnosis downloads from www.instant-hypnosis.com, for yourself, and you be the judge.

John Chow Competition..

August 24, 2007 By: admin Category: Uncategorized No Comments →

John Chow is running a competition over at his blog where you can win a 24″ wide screen LCD and a copy of Tim Ferris’ book 4 hour work week.

John has teamed up with the million dollar wiki to bring the prizes. There are two ways to get entries.. first you can take advantage of the $10 discount being offered to John Chow visitors who purchase a $100 page on the million dollar wiki (that gets you 5 entries..) or you can blog about the competition (like me..) and that will get you 2 entries.

Seems like an easy way to get in the running..

Bahamas Travel Guide..

August 24, 2007 By: admin Category: Uncategorized No Comments →

I talked a couple of days ago about how to travel to Hawaii and save on accommodation. Well today I stumbled an awesome Bahamas resource site that I wanted to post up about.

I have always wanted to go to the Bahamas. I have never been, but I think if there is only one place in the world that has a chance of topping Hawaii as an idyllic holiday destination, it is the Bahamas.

This is one of the more stylish travel sites I have stumbled in a while. They have a pretty comprehensive list of pages. From planning your trip, including tips for getting information, budgeting, booking and where to go when you get there.. to food, including restaurants and culinary styles.

Everything you could need to dream, plan and enjoy you ultimate Bahamas holiday.

Blog Post Title Ideas..

August 24, 2007 By: admin Category: Uncategorized No Comments →

I saw this post today in my reader about how to construct the perfect email subject line.. and thought I might post it up, for the bloggers out here in Visio land.. because I thought there might be some good tips for creating good blog post titles.

I will just say at the outset that I am not really a great one for catchy titles.

Some highlights:

1. Use keywords - pick the words that you want to focus on, and the ones that are meaningful to the email/blog post
2. Briefly describe the subject - dont forget the point of the title
3. Never leave the title blank.. it happens!

It is all about the marketing..

August 23, 2007 By: admin Category: Uncategorized No Comments →

There are a lot of pretty cool and inexpensive ways to build a community around your business. And that is really what marketing is all about. Building a community of loyal reader, customers, clients. People that spread the word. People that evangelize your business.

I stumbled an SMS Text Mobile Marketing site today, and hear is the postage to follow.

This is something that I think works very well for businesses that want to announce cool things in a pithy and funky way. And the best thing (from my perspective) about this is that it is permission marketing. Very powerful.

SMS Text Mobile Coupon Marketing can be used to great effect by entertainment venues, music store, restaurants (today’s special..), finance firms, auto repairs.. anyone, basically with a flair for communication can turn a few hundred 25c SMS Text-To Win a Contest or Voting or hot deal or today’s special or “to our favorite customer.. we love you!” type scripts into a long term relationship asset.

Marketing people. It is all about the marketing.

Great Online Furniture

August 23, 2007 By: admin Category: Uncategorized No Comments →

I got asked to take a look at this new furniture site that among other things is famous for its bar stools. And thought I would post up the review..

One of the things that I noticed when I first arrived at the site was that I did not really like it. My first feeling was that this was because it was a commercial site, purely designed to sell product, and I always like sites that tell a bit more of a story. But, as I dove deeper into the site I warmed to it more and more.. I liked the way the sections and categories were easy to access, with a nice nav bar across the top of the body section.. and I especially liked the photos and the display aspect of the site.. you have the functionality to zoom in on photos and take a closer look, which I really liked. Basically, the more I got used to the site, and the more I looked around and got into the site the more I liked what they were actually selling.

Which lead me to ponder my initial reaction. And I settled on the perspective that the design is just a bit dry and boring. I guess they are going for the classic and stylish goal, but I think they end up looking a bit stuffy, and even a bit cheap. This is the kind of template you choose from a selection of templates at a web design shop, in the cheaper end of town.. not a custom job.

And although websites are about the content, and the majority of surfers are not going to be put right off a not so pretty design.. my thinking is you want to have everything working in your favor as much as possible.

So, that is my one criticism. And my major suggestion. Funky up the design side a bit. Make it a bit more slick and web 2.0.

Overall, though.. I would highly recommend my family and friends (people I would be worried about them not having a good experience..) shop on this site.. and so, should you.

How much is enough for retirement?

August 23, 2007 By: admin Category: Uncategorized No Comments →

Setting you sights on retirement can be tricky if you are not exactly sure how much money you are trying to save. Today Free Money Finance showed up in my reader with some nice links and comments about some good retirement calculators.
1. Ballpark estimate - FMF says easy to use, but not easy to make changes (have to re-enter every number if you want to hit the back button)
2. Nationwide - solutions are general and not related to your data, but offer some interesting stats on average americans
3. AARP - not as slick as some, but offers “what if..” ability to change values..
4. Fidelity - simple and easy to use, but just works on 85% of pre-retirement income.

The Watershed

August 23, 2007 By: admin Category: Uncategorized No Comments →

I found a great resource for alcohol rehab today.

As regular readers of Visio Talk will know I have a personal interest in rehab, and a passion for promoting good rehab sites.

I do not think that rehab is something we should shy away from, and I know from personal contact with friends (and family..) that have been in for rehab that it can be an extremely positive and life changing process.

It is also something that is more affordable that most of us think. You should check out the watershed (link above) and find out more..

Family Friendly Hawaii..

August 22, 2007 By: admin Category: Uncategorized No Comments →

One of the best ways to holiday in Hawaii is by renting a holiday house. My family and I have done this on a lot of occasions and have never been disappointed.

Hawaii home rentals is a good way to save money, they are always a lot cheaper than the hotels, and if you do not mind self catering this is a great family option.

In alot of cases (check this hawaii travel blog for more details) you can get awesome locations at a very affordable price.

I think this is a great option for families. And the rental housing option is perhaps a little safer than the big hotels aswell.. and you have greater control over the activities you kids have access to (read: the activities your kids see and winge about wanting to do..), there are a lot of pluses.

Here is an interesting property move..

August 22, 2007 By: admin Category: Uncategorized No Comments →

I have to admit that I had never heard of the idea of sell and rent back until I saw it on another financial blog today.

Basically, the idea is that you can sell your house, to gain some liquidity in your finances, and then stay living in the house, and rent it back.

I can see this being a huge win for many pensioners. Because, there are a lot of advantages to renting. No taxes. No maintenance costs. And if you have an indefinite or “until death” type of lease arrangement, you get the security that owning previously afforded.

A lot of benefits. Not many downsides. But you need to find a good broker to set it up.

Pet Travel Bags..

August 22, 2007 By: admin Category: Uncategorized No Comments →

Are you a pet lover? Is you doggie a special person in you life?

As it happens, we have a very diverse readership here at Visio Talk. And, although it is a bit of a surprise to me, we have a lot of female readers, and a lot of younger readers..

So, here is a post especially for you guys..

It does not have to be for the ladies, necessarily, but I know my friend’s daughter’s loved this site when they first came across it.. it might be a good present resource to add to your bookmarks.

It is just a cool site.

The page that drew me in the first place, which I have stumbled today, is the dog bags page.. first thing that came to mind was the ex-con.. Paris.. and her famous doggie accessorizing..

Looking through the rest of the site you will find some of the funkiest and coolest pet accessories you are ever likely to find on one place.. it is very cool.

I would try to get a pair on my bordie collie, but I am fairly confident he would not talk to me for a week.. but I reckon this would be awesome present material for a lot of people.. and a treat for the extra special pooch.
