Things to verify before you join your work

June 16, 2008 By: admin Category: Careers No Comments →

If you are in search for a job or if you are going to join your work, you have got to know certain things before you join your work. It may seem queer to you that we ask you to ponder over something after you have already got the job. Yes, things are really queer at times.

It might happen to you that you have searched your jobs online or you might have also searched the job listing in order that you get a career option for yourself. There is no problem in this searching process of yours. It is, however, not going to be wise of you to believe everything about the company or the institution you are going to work with.

Got confused? Let me clarify. You might have got a job in your chosen field. However, you have to consider few more factors. Make sure, if the company pays properly or not. Many companies do not pay their employees properly. You have also to see if the office atmosphere or the work environment is suitable for the work or not. It is suggested that you should talk to the employees who are already working with the company in order that you can be sure of the factors that you ought to know. Try to avoid these kinds of job options since there remains little scope for you to grow in the field of your career. Be it healthcare jobs or advertising jobs or accounting jobs, get things verified before you resume work.

Insulate yourself from financial worries

February 14, 2008 By: admin Category: Careers No Comments →

It’s a sad fact of our modern economy that most families don’t have enough money in the bank to carry them for more than a month. Talk to a financial advisor, and they will tell you that – ideally – you should have a three-month cushion on which to rely, should you be laid-off. Take a look at famous serial entrepreneur Scott Jones website and you can get that cushion. Then there is also the issue of health. Here again, most people either have inadequate health insurance, or none at all. If someone in your family were in an accident, or came down with something life-threatening, what would you do? For that matter, what about simply caring for an elderly parent? The Baby Boomers are retiring; that means they are going to need care. Are you prepared to take in an invalid parent, or pay for decent care? When you look at the potential for financial disaster to befall you, it makes sense to look to ways of supplementing your income. Well, Scott Jones has been doing just that for years as an inventor and entrepreneur. He has a plethora of resources to help you find just the right sort of additional work. Maybe you have an idea for a new invention, or a new application for something made long ago. Doesn’t matter; the point is, he can help.

Does Your Child Want to be a Flight Attendant?

November 07, 2007 By: admin Category: Careers No Comments →

If you have a son or daughter that’s interested in pursuing a flight attendant career instead of going to college, your first instinct might be to discourage them. In reality you probably don’t need to bother. They will probably become discouraged enough to quit on their own before they ever make it to flight attendant school training.

The airline attendant application process is extremely competitive. There are way more applicants than there are available jobs. Even if your child is lucky enough to land an interview, the odds of them being selected for employment are slim. It is personality,
appearance and poise that are judged on interviews, and only the very best will be selected.

A lot of fields are just as competitive, but many of them pay better and involve much better working conditions. If you child does his or her homework and really explores flight attendant career
working conditions, it’s likely another more appealing choice will come along. Should your child make it and actually become a flight attendant, odds are good they will tire of the long hours and stressful work in no time. So relax and feel good about supporting your son or daughter’s decision to become a flight attendant. The worst that can happen is it will work out great, and they’ll be sure to appreciate your support.
